The Last Word – Mike Quelch 01/03/2019 – Posted in: Uncategorized

Have you ever wondered who the faces are that make up Cornwall’s Vincent Tractors & Plant?  Well here’s your chance to find out a bit more.  Each month we’ll focus on a different member of staff and get them to answer a few questions.

Name: Mike Quelch.

Job Title: Parts Sales Assistant (officially), keeper of the depot, cleaner and general multi-tasker in reality.

When did you join the company? End of Nov 2018.

What do you like to do in your spare time? Cinema (massive Marvel fan), walks, concerts (80’s music).

Something about your job that might surprise people:  It’s not as easy as you think!  Detective skills are often required and language translation.

Favourite machine: Segway – massive fun!

What did you want to be when you grew up?  When I grew up I was going to be a journalist, but never pursued it.  Wish I had Dr Who’s tardis now.

Career highlight: Achieving top sales across the company’s 7 stores for shooting equipment at a previous employer and winning a day out with an ex-Olympic champion as my prize.

Guilty pleasure:  Anything sweet, as I am a type 2 diabetic, probably because of the first part!

Favourite part of your job:  Delivering service beyond expectations and enjoying the customers satisfaction in return.
