Service is the Key to a Lasting Partnership 25/06/2019 – Posted in: News

There is a saying that it is hard to get new customers but keeping them is even harder.  Here at Vincent Tractors & Plant we work hard to get new customers and even harder to keep our existing customers coming back year after year.

One such repeat customer is Stephen Kendall who farms just under 1,000 acres near Bodmin, Cornwall.  It’s a mixed farm with dairy and beef enterprises.  They grow 250 acres of maize each year as well as 150 acres of cereals for their own use.

“My father started in business around the same time as Ken Vincent and we’ve been buying from Vincent Tractors & Plant ever since.  I reckon that we have bought 90% of our machinery, both new and used, from them over the years.” claimed Mr Kendall.

Service is the key to making sure that our customers keep coming back.  As Mr Kendall explains “We keep coming back because of the service.  It doesn’t matter what problem we have had; they have always been able to sort it out for us.  That is something that we value very highly.  Because of the type of enterprise that we run we need to make sure that if something breaks, we can get it fixed as soon as possible.  Vincent Tractors & Plant service is always second to none”.

Over the past 50 years the only new tractors they have bought have been from Vincent Tractors & Plant, apart from a Massey Ferguson back in 1973.

“We’ve had Zetor’s, Massey Ferguson and now Kubota’s from Vincents.  We’ve also bought a Manitou in the past, as well as other machines.”

He’s currently got four Kubota tractors on the farm, two M7131s, a M511 and a M135GX-II.  He explained that his staff really like Kubota tractors, finding them to be great tractors.

The latest edition to their fleet was an M7131.  Asked what improvements he would make to it and both him and his main tractor driver have to think for a minute.

“We genuinely can’t fault it.  The only criticism that I have is that as our business has grown, our horsepower requirement has also grown.  That’s something we will address when we look to replace them.”

“Vincent Tractors & Plant are our first choice when it comes to buying new machines.  We prefer to deal with them then go anywhere else.”

Kubota’s current M7002 range of tractors have 130Hp, 150Hp and 170Hp models, with both Powershift and Vario transmissions.
