Job Purpose
Vincent Tractors & Plant’s success and ongoing growth means we are looking for another land based engineer to join our expanding business at our Smithaleigh (South Devon) branch. Are you a dedicated, self-motivated engineer with a passion for agricultural, construction or groundcare machinery?

You will play a vital part in preparing, servicing and diagnostics & repairing our full line of Kubota and other key franchise machinery to the highest possible standards.

The ideal candidates will have experience in similar roles as a qualified engineer with a knowledge of agricultural, groundcare and/or construction machinery.

You should have good customer skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

As a Land Based Engineer, your main duties and responsibilities will be:

PDI’ing new machinery to the manufacturer’s specification.
Servicing machinery to the manufacturer’s specification on and off site.
Repairing machinery to the manufacturer’s specification on and off site.
Ensuring paperwork (job cards) is completed in a timely manner with details as requested.

Secondary Responsibilities

These responsibilities are essential in a small business where all members of the team are required to work flexibly and help in all and any area during busy periods

Keep confidential and company business or statistics.
To provide high levels of customer service
To represent Vincent Tractors & Plant and promote its brand throughout all activities.
Ability to work hours as required by the business.

Person Specification

ATTRIBUTES	ESSENTIAL	DESIRABLE
Relevant experience	Land Based Engineering experience	Other industries will be considered or someone who is familiar with the industry, machinery and terminology. First Aid qualification Qualification or certification in Health and Safety
Education/ Training	Four GSCE or equivalent, Maths and English grade C or above	Engineering qualification
Qualities, knowledge & skills	Engineering background Have a ‘can do’ attitude Ability to think problems through to a successful conclusion. Friendly, smiling & interested in our customers Self-motivated & able to use initiative Excellent interpersonal skills Attention to detail Flexible approach Neat, clean and tidy image Loyal and reliable Ability to work to deadline and to a high degree of accuracy. Additional factors	Willing to work additional hours as required. Willing to work indoors and outdoors in variable weather conditions A current driver’s licence

Full time position: 8.00am- 5.30pm. Monday – Friday. (5.00pm Wintertime).
Saturday: 8.00am to 12.00pm and call outs on a rota basis
