We’re thrilled to share that we are investing in a brand‑new, purpose‑built branch in Cullompton, opening in 2027. This is a hugely exciting step for our family business and marks the next chapter in strengthening our service across Devon and Somerset. The new site – which will sit alongside our Fraddon and Holsworthy branches – will bring our Smithaleigh and Wellington teams together under one roof, with upgraded workshops, a brighter and more modern showroom and expanded facilities designed to support our customers even better for the future.

Having moved into Devon in 2018 and Somerset in 2022 through leased branches, this new freehold site represents a major investment in the long‑term future of Vincents as the leading agricultural, construction and groundcare dealership for the South West. Its location in Cullompton, just off the M5, places us close to established rural retailers such as Mole Valley and sits on key routes used by many of our customers.

During the transition, both Smithaleigh and Wellington will remain open and our mobile engineers and sales teams will continue supporting customers as usual ensuring the high level of service we are known for carries on uninterrupted.

We are now finalising designs and contractors and looking to break ground this Spring. We look forward to sharing drawings of the new branch with you very soon.

As we celebrate our 60th anniversary this year, this feels like the perfect moment to take the next step in our story. From the original site our grandfather established in Fraddon in 1966 to the business we are today, we remain as committed as ever to supporting customers across the South West with trusted advice, strong relationships and reliable service.

Our continued growth has been shaped by the loyalty of our customers and the dedication of our teams. We’re proud that this reputation has recently been recognised through our appointment as the South West dealer for all Merlo agriculture and construction telehandlers, alongside our long‑standing position as the leading dealer for the full Kubota range across agriculture, groundcare, construction and engines, as well as our other market leading franchises. These milestones strengthen our offering across every branch and help us serve you even better in the years ahead.

Why are you opening a new branch in Cullompton?

To secure a long-term, purpose-built home for our Devon and Somerset operations. The new site gives us more space, better access and facilities and improved capacity to support customers across Devon and Somerset. It also moves us from rented premises to an owned freehold site – a key strategic step for the business.

Will there be more machinery on display / to demo?

Absolutely. The new Cullompton branch is purpose‑built and will have a much larger, more modern showroom than both Smithaleigh and Wellington. It’s being designed to a similar set-up to our Fraddon branch, with more space, improved layout and better facilities all round. It will give us the room we need to showcase our wide product range and create a much better experience for customers and the team.

Will delivery and response times change?

No. Engineers and sales teams remain mobile and the fast parts‑to‑home service continues. We are actually exploring a new courier partnership that will further improve the speed and efficiency of our parts delivery service – we are hoping to share more on this very soon.

What happens to the Smithaleigh and Wellington branches?

We plan to keep both branches open during the transition and then close these once Cullompton is fully operational next spring 2027. We will keep customers updated.

What happens to Holsworthy & Fraddon?

Holsworthy and Fraddon remain key branches for us and no changes are planned. There has been recent investment at both branches and they remain central to our long-term structure.
