Two family businesses. One very special milestone.
2026 is a big year for both Vincents and Carnevas Holiday Park, as both family-run businesses celebrate their 60th anniversaries.
For Carnevas, what started in 1966 as a family farming venture has grown into a much-loved holiday destination, built around the same values that have been at the heart of the business from the very beginning: family, hard work and a personal touch.

From farming the land to welcoming holidaymakers
The story of Carnevas began in 1966, when Peter and Pat Brewer began farming the family land. But it was Pat’s wedding money that helped spark the beginning of something much bigger. After marrying Peter in 1961, Pat used the money they received from their wedding to buy a caravan. That first caravan became the starting point for what would eventually grow into Carnevas Holiday Park.
As demand grew, the family began welcoming more holidaymakers onto the land. In the early days, the site became so busy that they would even let campers stay in the garden when they were full.
What started with one caravan has grown into a thriving family-run holiday park, but the family ethos has never changed.
Today, Peter and Pat’s daughter, Caroline, remains heavily involved in the business, alongside Victoria (Caroline’s daughter) and Mark (Caroline’s husband), ensuring that Carnevas continues to have that same personal, family-run feel that its customers have come to know and love.
And that family connection extends far beyond those who work at Carnevas.
Around 95% of Carnevas’ customers are repeat visitors, with many returning year after year and becoming part of what the family affectionately describes as the “Carnevas family”.
It’s a testament to the atmosphere they have created somewhere guests don’t simply come for a holiday, but somewhere they feel safe, welcome and at home.
A family business that understands family values
For Carnevas, being family-run isn’t just a description. It’s central to the way the business operates.
There’s a real emphasis on getting to know customers, providing a personal service and creating a secure environment where families can return year after year.
That approach is something we at Vincents can certainly relate to.
Vincents was also established in 1966 and remains a family-owned business today. While our businesses operate in very different industries, there are some striking similarities between the two particularly the importance of relationships, reputation and looking after people for the long term.
It’s one of the reasons our relationship with Carnevas has developed over the years.
Keeping Carnevas looking its best
Running a holiday park comes with plenty of jobs behind the scenes, from maintaining grounds and green spaces to keeping everything looking its best for the thousands of visitors who return each year.
Carnevas has invested in a number of machines from Vincents to help keep on top of those jobs, working with our Groundcare Salesman, Neil, along the way.
The relationship is about much more than simply supplying machinery. Neil has become a familiar face to the Carnevas team, helping them find the right equipment for their needs and providing the personal service that both businesses value.
And it’s clear that the Carnevas team love dealing with Neil, appreciating his knowledge, approachability and understanding of what is required to keep a busy holiday park running smoothly.
60 years and counting
From farming the family land in 1966 to welcoming generations of holidaymakers, Carnevas Holiday Park has built something genuinely special.
Six decades on, the business remains firmly rooted in its family values, with Caroline, Mark, Victoria and the wider team continuing the legacy started by Peter and Pat.
With 95% repeat custom, it’s clear that those values are working.
As Carnevas celebrates 60 years, we’re delighted to celebrate alongside them — and proud to have played a small part in helping them maintain the grounds that their customers enjoy year after year.
60 years of family businesses. 60 years of hard work. And plenty more memories still to make.
Here’s to the next 60 years, Carnevas!
