Kubota’s RTV900 on the beach with “Fifteen”

Fifteen Cornwall, the Jamie Oliver inspired restaurant has come to Watergate Bay in Newquay.  The Restaurant will provide disadvantaged young people from around Cornwall with the opportunity to build professional careers as chefs.

In April of this year Fifteen Cornwall came to us looking for an all terrain vehicle to tow a trailer and move products across Watergate Bay to the restaurant. Will Ashworth, Director of Fifteen Cornwall said, “We required a vehicle that was capable of carrying and towing heavy loads in a restricted operational environment.  We also needed something that would provide protection from the elements for the people using it. The vehicle also needed to be suitable for working in a harsh environment and having a 4WD vehicle was imperative, as was having something that complimented our environmental commitments.”  Straight away we knew we had the right machines for the job, an RTV900 from Kubota and an Ifor Williams Box Van.  The machines are now a common sight at Watergate Bay and are known collectively as the “recycle bubble” by the restaurant.  Fifteen are committed to protecting the environment which is why they chose the RTV900 utility vehicle to tow the Ifor Williams BV64 around the beach to transport both waste from the recycling bins placed on the beach and waste from the restaurant, to a special separation centre for recycling.  The RTV itself also runs partially on bio-diesel, created from recycled cooking oil. Mr Ashworth commented on how satisfied he was with the products, and the professional service the restaurant has received from Vincent Tractors. He said, “Vincent tractors continue to provide us with a professional and reliable service which is critical in the commercial environment within which the restaurant operates. Supporting local business is also important to Fifteen Cornwall, which is why 80 per cent of the produce used in the restaurant is locally sourced.  This means that the food has travelled very few miles helping to reduce environmental impact. The RTV900 is a 4WD hydrostatic rough terrain vehicle. There are 4 models in the range with varying specifications and tyres. The RTV900 is powered by a 22HP Kubota diesel engine, it has selectable 2 or 4WD, a 3 range hydrostatic transmission and in board disc brakes. With the in board disc brakes it makes it the perfect vehicle for 15 to use on the beach as the sand and salty water can’t erode them.
